Paul Simons

Paul is a commercial lawyer with 30 years’ experience in the energy, commodity and emissions markets. He has been involved in a number of initiatives to introduce standardisation to these markets.
Paul has extensive experience both in-house and in private practice, including 9 years at Clifford Chance where he specialised in OTC and exchange traded derivatives. He also worked at investment bank NM Rothschild and with a leading trading company, running a team supporting its gas, electricity and metals trading businesses.
In 2002, Paul established an independent consultancy, working with international blue-chips banks, commodity firms, miners and energy companies and across a wide range of physical and derivatives markets, including emissions, gas, electricity, nuclear, metals and freight. He supported Barclays Capital’s carbon trading operations and has been Redshaw Advisor’s legal advisor since 2016.
